- Purchase the raw material
- Fit and weld together the assembly
- Stress relieve, anneal, and/or heat treat it
- Machine all features, including boring, milling, drilling, tapping, keyways, contours, etc.
- Sandblast, prime and paint it
- Assemble and test electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components
- Inspect it to confirm dimensional and/or NDE requirements
