Machining Custom Parts
Ideal's machining facility consists of CNC horizontal mills, large conventional horizontal and vertical boring mills, and large lathes. These larger machining centers are supported by drill presses, knee mills, surface grinders, bandsaws, and engine lathes. With our lathes we can swing parts up to 50 inches in diameter (36" over carriage) and 12 feet long. In our vertical boring mills, we can turn parts up to 254 inches in diameter and 102 inches in height. Our horizontal boring mills can machine parts requiring up to 240 inches of horizontal travel and 80 inches of vertical travel. Contouring on inside and outside dimensions is accomplished by hydraulic tracers in the vertical turning centers, and CNC controls on our horizontal CNC machining centers.
Besides fabrications Ideal machines a wide variety of cast pieces including; valve bodies, turbine casings, pump housings, valve chests, structural components and many other types of castings. Ideal also machines many forgings, including forged rings, bars, and other shapes.
